The first AITF Newsletter of 2025 has arrived, and with it comes a renewed focus on collaboration, equity, and leadership. The Newsletter also includes updates on key programs, funding opportunities, and the latest resources from the field.
What’s Inside the January 2025 Issue?
AITF Theme for 2025: Values in Action
Building on past themes like Local Solutions in Divided Times, AITF is embracing Values in Action—a theme that highlights how anchor institutions can translate core values into practical, collaborative solutions in local communities.
This initiative will be integrated across all AITF programs, subgroup discussions, and events throughout the year. The Newsletter explores what this means for anchor institutions and invites members to share how their communities are applying these principles in real-world settings.
AITF Anchor Fellows Program – Applications Now Open!
The AITF Anchor Fellows Program is now accepting applications for the 2026 cohort. This program offers emerging leaders hands-on training to prepare them for guiding anchor institutions with a focus on collaboration, social justice, and equitable development. Funding Opportunity: Community Placemaking Grants
Project for Public Spaces is offering funding and technical assistance to nonprofit organizations and public agencies looking to enhance public spaces through placemaking initiatives. Applications are due by January 31, 2025.
Spotlight on Cross-Sector Partnerships
This issue highlights innovative collaborations happening at the local level, where anchor institutions are working together to address disparities in health, education, income, and housing. Through the Values in Action theme, AITF is committed to refining frameworks for these partnerships and amplifying the impact of community-led initiatives.
